Breeders of purebred Boer goats are truly making an
investment in becoming seedstock producers for the Boer goat
industry. As such, it is very important goat breeders in this
segment of the industry identify closely with their breed's
association to help shape the direction of their breed and to be
aware of current developments.
The obvious, immediate reason for membership is to receive
membership fees (non-members pay twice the fee members pay).
Members receive many other services non-members do not in
addition to being able to vote on vital breed and industry
issues. If you are not already a member of the American Boer
Goat Association, download a membership application above, or
contact the association office at (325) 486-2242 if you have
additional questions.
When you have completed the application, send it with the proper
fees to the association. A membership card will be issued and
you will receive official notice you have become a member of the
ABGA.
Active memberships are annual memberships issued by the
Association in the name of an individual, farm or ranch,
partnership or corporation. The member must pay annual dues
annually. Members also receive "The Boer Goat", a six times a
year magazine with association and industry information for ABGA
members.
Active members may attend all face to face meetings of the
Association and have voting rights at all official membership
meetings.
An active or junior member also saves in service fees charged
for registration and transfer of Boer goats.
