“I was not expecting Xtender to be that big”. That is what we heard from visitor after visitor coming to see Xtender in person after only seeing pictures of him before. Xtender is the largest buck we have ever seen in the U.S.  We did not initially realize how unique Xtender was until we started seeing him side by side with other bucks his age.  Xtender is a son of the great EGGSfile and out of a daughter of Top Gun No. 2, which was also EGGSfile’s sire. For whatever reason, that breeding gave us an unusual result in Xtender’s characteristics that we have not seen in other animals with similar bloodlines..  Xtender’s ennoblement was completely awarded by points won from his offspring. We never set out to get Xtender ennobled. Last year, we started showing Painted Warrior, a son of Xtender, and had very good results. We quickly saw the ability to get Painted Warrior ennobled if we would just take him and some of his kids out to our local shows. However, as we started checking the show points that were accumulating on our animals, we realized that Xtender was only 5 points away from becoming ennobled. We quickly looked around our herd and found an Xtender daughter to show and got the last 5 points.  We believe that Xtender was a once in a life time breeding buck for us that completely changed the success of our Boer Goat business and the direction our breeding program has taken.
