ABGA COMMITTEE MEETINGS BEGIN:

ABGA committee meetings will begin in the month of October. We appreciate everyone who volunteered to serve on an ABGA committee. If you are serving on a committee but have not received a Zoom link via email, please reach out to your committee chair.

Meetings will be held at 7:00 PM CST unless otherwise noted.

The committee meeting schedule will be as follows:

1st Week

1st Monday of the month: Youth and Regional Shows Committee

1st Tuesday of the month: Education and Member Relations Committee

1st Wednesday of the month: National Show Committee

1st Thursday of the month (quarterly): Finance Committee

1st Thursday of the month (not in Finance Committee months): Breed Standards Committee

2nd Week

2nd Monday of the month: JABGA Board of Directors (6:00 PM CST)

2nd Tuesday of the month: ABGA Board of Directors

2nd Wednesday of the month: DNA and Meat Goat Evaluation Committee

2nd Thursday of the month: Judges Committee

3rd Week

3rd Monday of the month: Sanctioned Show Committee

3rd Tuesday of the month: Marketing and Member Benefits Committee

3rd Thursday of the month: Bylaws and Rules Committee

ABGA is hiring a Youth Coordinator for the Junior American Boer Goat Association (JABGA). This is a mostly remote position with travel required; the full job description is posted HERE.


If you are passionate about leadership, education, and personal development for youth and want to work with an expanding nonprofit organization, email your resume and cover letter to officemanager@abga.org or apply on Indeed. This position will remain open until it is filled.

Submitting work to ABGA via regular mail? Be sure to use our current address: 4258 S. Jackson St., San Angelo, Texas 76903. We recommend using Priority Mail to ensure delivery to the ABGA office.


If you are submitting work to the ABGA office via email, please send it to mail@abga.org.


Old and outdated ABGA forms should be destroyed: correct forms are available online at: https://www.abga.org/forms/.




BOOKKEEPING:

Our office is currently making courtesy calls regarding outstanding balances for ABGA work. We would like to remind ABGA members that they can view their outstanding balances through Online Live, and can make payments using Online Live or the Payment Center.






DNA:

DNA Processing: UC Davis's average processing time is 23 business days.


We have received most DNA results up to September 9, 2022.


ABGA SANCTIONED SHOWS:

Show secretaries have 30 days after the show to submit results. If you see points missing or incorrectly calculated in ILR, we may be awaiting placings from your show secretary; please email shows@abga.org for more information.
