Award Types:
Banners will be awarded to the winner of each division for both ABGA and JABGA.
Designation will be placed on Registration Papers for the individual animal awards.
The Sire and Dam of the Year Awards will be given to the respective animals that have accumulated the most points by three or more exhibited progeny during the given show season. The awards will be presented to the current owner of record according to ABGA.
The breeder of an animal is determined by ownership of the animal’s dam at time of service according to ABGA records. Goats owned in partnership will accrue points for that partnership towards breeder of the year, but not towards an individual breeder.
The exhibitor of the animal will be determined by official show records submitted by the ROH shows.
Show Year & Award Presentation

Show Year runs from June 1 to May 31
Awards are presented during the Nationals Member Banquet
Only one show may be designated as an ROH at events with multiple ABGA sanctioned shows.
Additional Details:
One person cannot judge more than one ROH Level 1 Show in the same show year.
Recognized Level 1 shows may submit three judges' names (in order of preference) to the ABGA by September 1 (the year preceding their show) to be approved by the board of directors. If a show has already selected judges for the 25-26 show season, those judges will be honored. If the recognized point show does not wish to submit names the ABGA will make the selections.
Judges MUST NOT be contacted before they are approved.
If a Recognized ROH Show has less than 70 head in an Open show or 50 head in a JABGA show starting this show season, it will be placed on probation, meaning it will have one year to increase number of head shown back to the respective number for that show. If it falls below those numbers for two consecutive years, it will lose ROH Status. If a Level 1 ROH Show has less than 100 head in an Open show or 70 head in a JABGA show, it will be placed on probation, meaning it will have one year to increase number of head shown back to Level 1 requirements; if it does not meet these requirements for two consecutive years, it will lose ROH Level 1 Status. ABGA will communicate with the show staff if they show has been put on probation.
